How it works:

SC902 is a spray-applied hybrid intumescent paint for structural steel. When these paints are exposed to heat, they undergo a chemical reaction and expand to create a carbonaceous char that acts as an insulant between the steel component and the fire. This delays the heat transfer process into the steel and helps to maintain the structural integrity of the building to allow for evacuation and the intervention of emergency services.
